Aftershocks Of The Earthquake

Yet another sign, another respite, another reminder,
To seek forgiveness and submit to the Master.

A moment of fear and then delusion,
Is my heart corrupted or has it hardened?

I give in to my desires and to Iblis,
How could I agree to let go of You, with ease?

You pulled me out of utter darkness,
Showed me true light in the midst of fake brightness.

Still my stubborn self would not budge,
I keep forgetting that you’re the One to Judge.

I persist in displeasing You, my Master,
But You never forgot to save me from disaster.

I am ashamed as how could it be?
A slave can be so thankless, so shameless as me.

I trip and fail again and again,
Your Mercy is there and will always remain.

Please, show me the true light once more,
And change my heart as you had done before.

Keep me consistent on it forever,
And make my path to Jannah clearer.
